The levels of vaccination in Mottingham are low compared to other areas in Bromley.
To encourage vaccination in the area and support attendance we are offering additional walk-in clinics in January and February, in local premises well known by the community. Upcoming clinics in Mottingham are:
- Geffery’s Hall – 27 Nunnington Close, SE9 4TA
- Wednesday 26 January, 3-7.30pm
- Friday 28 January, 3-7.30pm
- Castlecombe Youth Centre – Castlecombe Road, SE9 4AT
- Friday 4 February, 4-7.30pm
- Saturday 5 February, 9-1pm
- Mottingham Community Centre – Kimmeridge Road, SE9 4EB
- Thursday 17 February, 3-7.30pm
- Friday 18 February, 3-7.30pm
We have partnered with Community Links Bromley and Bromley Well, and local groups including Mottingham Big Local Refocused and the Mottingham Community and Learning Shop, to coproduce a flyer and posters to promote the clinics.
Jenny and Terry, Mottingham residents say ‘“We have volunteered in Mottingham to support the vaccination programme. So many residents have come forward but we are aware there are still many that haven’t.
Together we are just a small piece in a large jigsaw trying to keep our community safe. Please come and get your vaccines done.”
Dr Elliott, who already joined Mottingham during the first phase of the vaccination programme, is also supporting this phase for second and booster doses. ‘Getting your vaccine reduces the probability of you getting seriously ill. We are running these pop-up walk-in clinics so residents can attend when convenient. Bring your friends and neighbours. If you have concerns we are here to talk.’
Mottingham residents are also invited to join the walk-in clinics to learn about the Slimming World programme. Gillian Fiumicelli, Head of Vascular Disease Prevention programme in Bromley explains ‘Being a healthy weight can reduce your risk of serious illness if you catch Covid 19. Check your height, weight and BMI with us. You could be entitled to 12 weeks FREE support at Slimming World if your Body Mass Index is 30 or more. For more information and to find out if you are eligible, please ask at the Mottingham pop-up clinics or ask your local GP practice’.
