General practice and pharmacy availability over Christmas and New Year

Posted on

Following the Prime Minister’s announcement on Sunday evening, general practice has been working tirelessly to ensure all patients who are eligible, are offered a COVID booster by the 31st December.

The majority of practice staff are being redeployed until the New Year to administer Covid booster vaccinations. This may mean that any appointments you have over the next three weeks, for routine care, may be cancelled. There may also be a delay in general practice administration. Please do not contact your practice for routine matters until the New Year

It is important to understand that your surgery remains open. If you are in need of urgent care or support, your surgery team should still be your first port of call for help and urgent appointments will be available.

Please bear with your practice during this time as they work hard to vaccinate as many people as possible.

London Pharmacy opening hours for Christmas and New Year period

Bank Holidays can affect the opening hours of local pharmacies. Please note that Sunday 26th December 2021 is not a bank holiday, however there will be some pharmacies who normally open who will be closed on this day and so therefore we have also arranged for pharmacies to open as part of the Rota on 26th December 2021.

There may be additional pharmacies opening which are not listed. If the pharmacy you would like to visit is not listed here, then you can check their opening hours by searching at www.nhs.uk/service-search/find-a-pharmacy or by calling NHS 111.
