After a global shortage of some equipment used for taking blood tests, the supply situation in the UK is beginning to improve but is yet to be fully resolved.
Blood testing in primary and community care, in line with best practice guidance, will now resume. Clinicians in south east London will continue to manage supply carefully to ensure that tests are available for patients most in need.
Where your clinician recommends that it’s safe to do so, you may still be asked to come back for a test at a later date, or your appointment may be rescheduled.
Please be assured that if your condition or symptoms require it, then you will get a test, and the NHS will be re-booking your test when supplies become more easily available.
If your condition or symptoms change or get worse, please contact the NHS as you would normally.
