The current category is Managing Co-morbidities during Covid-19 pandemic

Eyes

Minor Eye Condition Scheme (MECS) across all South East London boroughs

The advice for MECS is to refer through the optometrist triage service. The team will then triage the patient and book them into a pre-booked slot in a MECS practice as needed. Guidance for GPs.

The MECS website highlights which providers are operational during COVID-19 across all SEL Boroughs.

Ophthalmology advice is available via consultant connect in all SEL boroughs.

Eye emergencies

GSTT continue to provide an ophthalmic walk in emergency service at St Thomas’ Hospital. Eye emergency should only be used for people with genuine acute eye problems. If referrers / GP’s are unsure if a patient needs to attend Eye Emergency, please contact Eye Casualty on 020 7188 4336 for advice. Ophthalmology advice is also available on consultant connect for all SEL boroughs.

Advice for existing GSTT patients
